This mantra kept me going through the excitement, doubts, tiredness and joy of setting up The Wool Haven. An opportunity to take voluntary redundancy in my work in IT led to me making a big leap of faith and a hesitant call about a lease on a wee shop which had become vacant in Langside Place. The rest of the story unfolded with lots of coincidences and the love and amazing support of my husband, family and friends.
We want the Haven to be a bright welcoming place to visit. We want to offer the quality and variety of wool, yarn and accessories that our customers are looking for and will welcome your constructive ideas.
We aim to have informal knit and learn together sessions in the Autumn and Winter with extra "specialist skills" evenings in knitting and crochet, rather than a long term commitment to classes. Our hope is that we can enjoy learning from one another, try something new and inspire each other in our craftwork.
I look forward to meeting you all, providing the materials you need and making our wee wool shop a warm and creative place to be.
